The
Pinecrest Police Department is a full service community
oriented police agency. The department is
accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law
Enforcement Agencies and the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement
Accreditation. Services include School Resource Officers,
DARE Program, Police Explorers, Community
Service
Aides, Crossing Guards, Internal Affairs, Dispatching,
Records, Crime Prevention and Crime Scene Investigation
Units, Honor Guard Unit, Uniform Patrol (including Bike
Patrol, K-9 Unit and the Detective Bureau).
PD PIPELINE
The
PD
Pipeline is a program established to inform the
community of important police-related activities in the
community. This service includes announcements,
department information, special bulletins, and recent
crime statistics.

DEPARTMENT STAFF
John
R. Hohensee was
sworn-in as the Village’s second Police Chief on
December 14, 1999. Chief
Hohensee began his law enforcement career as a patrolman
with the Lockport, New York Police Department in 1970.
In 1972, he joined the Kenmore, New York Police
Department where he served until 1990 and achieved the
rank of Lieutenant. In 1990, he was appointed as Chief
of Police for the Village of Wellsville, New York and in
1993 became Public Safety Director of the City of
Oakwood, Ohio where he was responsible for all police,
fire and rescue services.
Chief
Hohensee has an Associate’s Degree in Police Science
from Genessee Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree
from Buffalo State University College and a Master’s
Degree in Community Services Administration from Alfred
University (Alfred, New York).
