CORAL PINE PARK

An active nine acre park with a recreation center, six lighted tennis courts, a natural area, an all-purpose field, and a tot lot. 

 

Coral Pine Park in one of three former Miami-Dade County parks transferred to the Village in 1998.  A new $52,000 lighting system was installed for the tennis courts in 2001 and the recreation center underwent a $165,000 renovation in 2002.

EVELYN GREER PARK

Gazebo at Evelyn Greer Park

An active ten acre park with multipurpose athletic fields (softball and soccer), batting cages, a tot lot, and a recreation center and community gazebo.  The park also has an Internet Wi-Fi Spot in the gazebo. 

 

The Village Council initiated discussions regarding the acquisition of the property for the development of the park in 1998.  After a series of public and community meetings, the Village Council approved the master plan for the park on March 9, 1999.  Construction of the park began on January 25, 2000 and was completed within one year.  The Village Council dedicated the facility as "Pinecrest Park" on January 27, 2001.  The park was re-designated as "Evelyn Greer Park" by the Village Council on November 9, 2004 in recognition of the contributions and accomplishments of the Village's first mayor.  In 2005, the park was highlighted as one of the best playgrounds in South Florida by Parenting Magazine.

FLAGLER GROVE PARK

A three acre facility which includes lighted youth soccer fields, a boundless playground, parking, and restrooms.

The historic site of the former Parrot Jungle and Gardens is the jewel of the Village’s park system.  The Pinecrest Gardens complex includes the botanical gardens, the Pinecrest Community Center, a Village Green and recreation field, and the Pinecrest Branch of the Miami-Dade Public Library System.  It is also home of the Parks and Recreation Department's administrative office.  The 20+ acre site also hosts a variety of events including the annual Fine Arts Festival.  Visit Pinecrest Gardens online for additional information about the facility.

RED ROAD LINEAR PARK

East-side of Red Road between Kendall Drive and Killian Drive

Pinecrest, Florida

 

A 2.5 mile lighted walking/bicycle path along the Snapper Creek Canal on Red Road. The park includes three rest areas accented with coral rock walls and enhanced landscaping along historic Red Road. 

 

 


 

SUNILAND PARK

An active ten acre park with multipurpose athletic fields (baseball and football), batting cages, a recreation center, basketball courts, an Internet Wi-Fi Spot in the gazebo, and a tot lot. 

 

In 1916, Miami-Dade County purchased a five acre parcel called Rock Pit #21 and, in 1938, added 3.5 acres and dedicated the land for park use.  On September 8, 1962, the county officially agreed to develop the property with athletic facilities including baseball and football fields and basketball courts and the modern-day Suniland Park was established.  In 1999, the facility was deeded by the county to the Village of Pinecrest.  The park was completely redeveloped during 2002-2003.  The $1.6 million 5 2 improvements to the park included a new building and gazebo, enhancements to the basketball courts and fields, a new jogging/walking path, and lighting upgrades.

VETERANS WAYSIDE PARK

Lake at Veterans Wayside Park

A passive 4.5-acre park with a freshwater lake, picnic tables and open recreation areas.

 

The park name honors the service of the men and women of the Armed Forces of the United States.  The roadway (79th Avenue) adjacent to the park was co-designated by the Village Council as Veterans Parkway on Veterans Day in 2007.
