December 10 Village Council Meeting Summary
The Village Council approved various projects to improve community services and infrastructure, as well as hiring Dutch urban design consultants to help design shared-use paths and appointing Jerry Greenberg as Vice Mayor for the 2024-2025 Fiscal Year.
Jerry Greenberg as Vice Mayor. The Village Council approved a resolution for Councilmember Jerry Greenberg to be the Vice Mayor for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Read Tab 2 for more information.
Youth Soccer Programs. The Village Council passed a resolution authorizing the Village Manager to partner with Soccer Stars for youth soccer initiatives. Read Tab 4 for more information.
Drainage Improvements. The Village Council passed a resolution awarding a bid to Hahn Construction for the SW 69th Avenue drainage improvement project. Read Tab 5 for more information.
Howard Drive Landscaping. The Village Council passed a resolution awarding Nature’s Dream Landscape a bid for landscaping work on the Howard Drive median. Read Tab 6 for more information.

Friends of Pinecrest Gardens Bylaws. The Village Council passed a resolution to approve the amended bylaws for Friends of Pinecrest Gardens, Inc. Read Tab 9 for more information.
Concession Services Agreement. The Village Council passed a resolution to enter into an agreement with Watrwell Miami, LLC. to provide concession services on Village property. Read Tab 11 for more information.
Potable Water Project Design. The Village Council passed a resolution to enter into a contract with AMI Engineering, Inc. to design the Potable Water Lateral Project. Read Tab 12 for more information.
Roadway Services Contract. The Village Council passed a resolution to contract with Arrow Asphalt & Engineering, Inc. for various roadway services. Read Tab 13 for more information.
Snapper Creek Shared-Use Path Project. The Village Council passed a resolution in support of developing the Snapper Creek Canal Shared-Use Path. Read Tab 14 for more information.

Red Road Linear Park Safety Improvements. The Village Council passed a resolution expressing support for safety improvements at Red Road Linear Park. Read Tab 16 for more information.
Safe Streets and Roads Project. The Village Council passed a resolution to enter into an agreement with Stantec Consulting Services for the Safe Streets and Roads for All initiative (SS4A). Read Tab 18 for more information.
Vision Zero Commitment. The Village Council passed a resolution supporting Vision Zero, aiming for zero roadway fatalities by 2035. The Village Council amended the original resolution which aimed for zero fatalities by 2050 to zero fatalities by 2035. Read Tab 3 for more information.
Farmers Market Operations. The Village Council passed a resolution authorizing the Village Manager to enter into a contract with Miami Culinary Kitchen, LLC to manage the Farmers Market. The agreement is for one year and the Village clarified that the market can be relocated depending on the needs of the departments involved. Read Tab 10 for more information.
Dutch Urban Design Team Agreement. The Village Council passed a resolution to waive competitive bidding and authorize an agreement with the Dutch Urban Design Team (DUDT) for multi-modal transportation consulting services. The agreement has a cap of $50,000 and will be reassessed as needed. DUDT specializes in innovative transportation solutions and shared-use path design, drawing from the Netherlands' global reputation for excellence in multi-modal and bike-friendly urban planning. Seven Dutch urban design teams were evaluated in the selection process, and DUDT's extensive experience working in the United States and Canada made them the top choice. Budget Amendment Ordinance. The Village Council passed an ordinance on first reading to amend the 2023-2024 Operating and Capital Outlay Budget (4th Quarter). Read Tab 19 for more information.
US 1 Corridor Redevelopment Design. The Village Council passed a resolution to enter into an agreement with FIU by Design for redeveloping the US 1 Corridor. Read Tab 27 for more information.
