The Village Council will hear measures that include purchasing landscaping equipment to maintain Village landscaping, amending the Village’s procurement process and building a fire access road from the Public Works Department yard to the Community Center field.
The below items will be decided upon by the Village Council. Village Council meetings also include discussions about topics that are being considered and researched. To learn more about non-action items, please review the full agenda.
December 12 Village Council Meeting Advance
- The Village Council will hear a resolution authorizing the Village Manager to enter into an agreement with companies for towing and wrecker services.
- The Village Council will hear a resolution authorizing the Village Manager to enter into an agreement with Robertson Recreational Surfaces for Coral Pine Park playground safety surface.
- The Village Council will hear a resolution authorizing the Village Manager to enter into an agreement with Westco Turf, Inc. for landscape equipment purchase. The purchase includes three electric zero-turn lawnmowers, one diesel-powered reel mower, and electric-powered hand tools to maintain the park's athletic fields, landscaped areas, and the Village rights of way.
- The Village Council will hear a resolution authorizing the Village Manager to enter into an agreement with Stantec for a Village-wide roadmap to facilitate the rehabilitation and maintenance of all Village roads based on condition and need. It can also be used to help secure grant funding for resurfacing, widening, and/or reconstruction.
- The Village Council will hear a resolution authorizing the Village Manager to execute an agreement with BCC Engineering, Inc. for stormwater drainage services data collection, design, permitting, and post-design services and support for Basin C100A-E-2.
- The Village Council will hear a resolution authorizing the Village Manager to enter into an agreement with Metro Express for the construction of a fire access road from the Public Works Department yard to the Community Center field.
- The Village Council will hear a resolution expressing support for the development of the Ludlam Trail (67 Avenue shared use path) Project.
- The Village Council will hear an ordinance on first reading creating Section 36-4 of the Village Code of Ordinances to authorize the placement, installation, and operation of speed detection systems on roadways maintained as school zones, establish traffic enforcement procedures when speed detection systems are utilized for school zone speed limit violations, and create hearing procedures relating to such school zone speed limit violations.
- The Village Council will hear an ordinance on second reading amending the 2022-2023 Operating and Capital Outlay Budget (4th Quarter).
- The Village Council will hear an ordinance on second reading amending Section 2-290, “Purchasing Limitations; Competitive Bidding,” of Chapter 2 of the Village Code of Ordinances to modify competitive bidding thresholds and methods. In an effort to improve the efficiency of the Village’s procurement process, the attached proposed ordinance adds an additional alternative to purchases in the amounts between $50,000 and $100,000. Purchases falling within those amounts would require quotes from three different vendors, as opposed to a formal bid, and would continue to be approved by Village Council. Any purchases over $100,000 would still require a formal bid process.
- The Village Council will hear a resolution confirming that no Village-owned property is suitable for use as affordable housing pursuant to Section 166.0451. The Building and Planning Department has reviewed all publicly-owned property and has determined that the Village owns no such property appropriate for affordable housing.
The meeting will be held at 6 pm, Tuesday, December 12 at the Pinecrest Municipal Center, 12645 Pinecrest Parkway, third floor.A live stream video link will be available once the meeting is called to order.
