As we approach Independence Day, we want to ensure everyone enjoys the festivities safely and responsibly. Please take a moment to review the following safety tips:

·       Watch Fireworks Shows Organized by Professionals: Let the experts handle the fireworks and enjoy the show from a safe distance.

·       Home Fireworks Caution: If using fireworks at home, follow all instructions and keep water nearby to extinguish fires. Remember, no fireworks are allowed in Pinecrest parks without a permit from the parks director.

·       Stay Cool and Hydrated: With Florida’s summer heat, remember to wear sunscreen, seek shade and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and prevent heat-related illnesses.

·       Protect Your Pets: Fireworks can scare pets. Keep them indoors in a quiet, sheltered area to reduce their stress and prevent escape.

·       Plan Your Ride: If alcohol is part of your celebration, designate a sober driver or arrange alternate transportation in advance.

·       Grill with Care: Always supervise your grill, keep it in an open area away from structures, and never leave it unattended.

·       Water Safety: Keep a watchful eye on children around water and wear life jackets when boating.

·       Home Fireworks Caution: If using fireworks at home, follow all instructions and keep water nearby to extinguish fires. Remember, no fireworks are allowed on the village’s public lands or parks without a permit from the department director.

·       Alcohol and Fireworks Don't Mix: Never handle fireworks if you're impaired. Stay sober and stay safe.

·       Secure Your Home: If traveling, secure your home by locking doors and windows and inform a trusted neighbor.

For emergencies, dial 911 immediately. Wishing you a safe and happy 4th of July.
