Summertime in Pinecrest means fun in the sun, but it also means a few more mosquitoes. Here are some tips to help keep these pesky bugs at bay:

- Drain: Regularly check your property for any standing water - this includes pet dishes, bird baths, empty plant pots, old tires, and gutters. Mosquitoes breed in stagnant water, so draining these sources can help control their population.
- Cover: Make sure to cover items that can collect water such as barbecues, toys, and garden equipment. Also, consider using tarps or pool covers to prevent water accumulation.
- Maintain your lawn - Keep your grass and shrubs trimmed to reduce shady areas where mosquitoes like to rest.
- Install bug lights: These lights are less attractive to mosquitoes and can help reduce their presence in your yard. 
- Use mosquito repellents: Consider using candles with Citronella for outdoor activities or a DEET-based spray for personal protection. 
- Cover your skin: Along with mosquito repellant, consider wearing long sleeve shirts and pants. 
- Install or repair screens: Keep mosquitoes outside by having intact screens on windows and doors.
