Ken Fairman was elected, without opposition, to Seat At-Large in 2022. He is from Sharon, Pennsylvania, and lived his teenage years in Raleigh, North Carolina, before moving to Miami in 1986. He has lived in Pinecrest since 1992 with his wife Kim, whom he met at Wake Forest University. Together they raised two children, Lauren and William, who attended public schools. Councilmember Fairman is co-founder and president of Florida Pavement Services, Inc. He has served as a Director for the Florida Housing Finance Corporation and as an appointed member of the Village’s Zoning Board. Ken volunteered with community-based youth sports programs for 20 years, coaching soccer and baseball. During that time, he served multiple terms as President and Executive Board member of Howard Palmetto, our local community baseball league. He is a member of the Executive Board for the Miracle League of Miami-Dade and a grateful volunteer since the organization’s inception in 2010. The Miracle League of Miami-Dade organizes baseball for special needs kids and adults. Councilmember Fairman is the current president of TREEmendous Miami, an organization dedicated to tree planting and native habitat restoration.
