Gary Matzner Park

In 2021, Village Council approved the acquisition of the 3.76 acre two-parcel site located on the southeast corner of Kendall Drive between 67 Avenue and 65 Court. This site is slated to become the future Gary Matzner Park.

In May 2023, Village Council approved the conceptual design for the future park. The final design, as adopted by Village Council, includes vast open spaces, natural play areas, a covered playground, a walking path, a restroom shelter, parking, preservation of numerous specimen trees, and a park gateway that welcomes residents and guests to the northern entrance of the Village. The park landscape will include all native species and create a canopy and backdrop for families and friends to gather and be surrounded by nature as they enjoy the park’s beauty and amenities.

The Village awarded an architecture firm the contract to develop the design and construction documents based on the approved conceptual design for this facility. Upon completion of the construction documents, a bid will be advertised for the work to begin. Construction for this project is expected to begin in early 2025 and should take approximately twelve months to complete.
