The Pinecrest Police Department is a full service community-oriented police agency and one of only seven Public Safety Answering Points (911) in Miami-Dade County. The department is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation and the Florida Telecommunications Accreditation Commission.

The police department is comprised of three divisions.  Operations, Support Services and Administration. 

Services include Uniform Patrol, Crime Scene Investigation, Community Resource Team, Traffic Enforcement Unit, Communications, Community Service Aides, Crossing Guards, Honor Guard, Police Records, Property and Evidence and the Criminal Investigations Section, which comprises of the Detectives, Victims Services and Crime Analyst.

Jason Cohen

Jason Cohen was sworn-in as Pinecrest's fourth Police Chief on July 1, 2021. Chief Cohen began his career with the Pinecrest Police Department in 1998, as a patrol officer, and is the Village's first chief to rise through the ranks of the department.
