Youth Programs
Police Explorer Program
The intent of Law Enforcement Exploring is to educate young people about police operations, and to inform them about the many different possibilities for future employment in the law enforcement field. Through personal, hands-on involvement with many different aspects of police operations, the law enforcement Explorer program gives participants a unique perspective and awareness of the complexities and rewards of police service.
Although most Law Enforcement Exploring activities are of an educational nature, social activities are also included. Explorers are given the opportunity to broaden their understanding and gain first-hand knowledge of the challenges and job skills that make up their communities police service. The Explorer program encourages the individual to continue their education, encourages the Explorer to participate in rewarding and productive community service activities, and helps the Explorer prepare for their future roles as citizens and community leaders.
Eligibility Requirements
Membership in the Law Enforcement Explorer program is open to both males and females, ages 14-21.
